A few weeks ago, Ry and I were able to attend the Toddler Test Kitchen at the Halle Heart Children’s Museum. To be honest, I really didn’t know much about the program but I am always looking for new activities to do especially around the valley and decided why not?! Dates aren’t just for grown-ups! I have always wanted to make it a habit to go on little dates with my kids and this was a perfect day date to hang out and learn with Ryker!
Class is based around a hands on cooking class designed for your toddler to safely learn their way around the kitchen and learn about healthy, flavorful foods. Yaffi, of Baby Bloom Nutrition, guided everyone through each step and also explained added benefits of letting the littles do as much of the work as possible. She is seriously rad! She has twin toddlers and was wearing her newest little baby all while teaching the class. I mean rockstar mom! Y’all the absolute best part is there is no prep and NO CLEAN UP! You just show up and everything is pre-portioned and ready to go.
We made Avocado Banana Muffins which were so good! As you can tell in the photos, Ry was not shy about helping himself to his share! The recommended ages are 2-6, so obviously Ry was a little young but the class seriously impressed me with how long it kept his attention. While our muffins cooked, Yaffi held story time about different colors of our foods and we stepped outside to let Ryker expel some energy! Then it was back in for taste testing, coloring, and exploring the museum.
Overall, we had a great experience and I am planning to take Ryker again when he is a little older. He loved stirring and mashing though and now loves to help out at our house too!
Partnering up with Halle Heart Museum, I am excited to offer a 10% discount just for y’all! This is good towards individual tickets as well as the 4-class series option for upcoming Toddler Test Kitchen classes.
