Toddler Friendly Spring Activities with Gathre

Photography: Melinda Pike Photography Y'all it has been crazy in the Smith home! Thanks for being patient with me while I took care of my sick baby. He has been getting better and better since Sunday and I finally feel like I have my little monkey back! PS he also knows what sound a monkey makes and it's freakin adorable! Thank you so much to everyone who called, messaged or texted me about him. I appreciate your love! Since he is feeling better, I have been taking full advantage of starting some fun Easter activities. Today, I wanted to share two easy and fun activities that are perfect for your busy toddler this spring! Have you ever seen a toddler decorate a sugar cookie? It is such a fun way for kids to get involved in the kitchen … [Read more...]

Spring Break Rappel – Coons Bluff

February 26, 2014 By Katie

Spring Break Rappel – Coons Bluff

Last year I thought Spring Break in Arizona during the last week of February was insane. This year I COULD NOT WAIT! The weather is gorgeous and all I want to do is quit my job and lay by the pool, run the mountain trails, and play outside with my dog.  Seriously though, I almost can handle living in Arizona until I think about those 120 degree Summers... so let's not. Yesterday, we went out to our favorite rappel spot in Mesa at Coon's Bluff to have some fun in the sun. Everyone (even the 2 year old) rappelled down the cliff! Afterwards, we met up with Mama Smith to grab Grimaldi's Pizza and Frost Gelato! Perfection :) xoxo   … [Read more...]

5 Tips to Getting “Due Date” Ready

  • I’m blessed to be surrounded by thoughtful, beautiful friends that threw me the sweetest cactus shower for #growingbabysmith 🌵Early this morning I had my share of breakdowns but being encircled by strong, loving women lifted my spirits. AND special thanks to the hub of all hubs for entertaining the boys all day!!!! #thankyou #celebratinglife
  • They say timing is everything... many of you know we miscarried twice this year + immediately before our current pregnancy with #growingbabysmith - our due date would have been the day my Mom left this earth. This entire pregnancy, I felt strongly that my Mom would pass away before we had our baby + although I resisted the thought, the feeling never went away. I have felt comfort gaining perspective on the timing of everything. God knows my limitations, my breaking point + if I would have been delivering a new baby the exact same time my Mom was slipping away, it would have just been too much for me. Sometimes, well most of the time, we (I) don’t understand timing + why things happen the way they do; we possibly never will. However, sometimes we are gifted little glimpses into the plan that surrounds us + the love that is felt for us💕 #miracles4mitzi
  • After five and a half years fighting a remarkable battle with stage 4 breast cancer, my sweet mother comfortably passed away earlier today. Even as a nurse, I have never seen an individual demonstrate such an extraordinary determination to survive. For that, she will always be a wonderful example of strength to me and those around her. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see and talk with Mom when I did. I know she is at peace and incredibly happy to reunite with her family in Heaven. I feel strongly she is now able to meet our sweet baby boy, teach and love him before he enters this world in just a few short weeks. I’m struggling with not being able to fly out and lay her to rest but I’m overwhelmed with the compassion, support and aid of those closest to me helping in my absence. I know I will see my Mom again but until that time comes, she will be taking care of us from Heaven.
I will share funeral arrangement information once confirmed #miracles4mitzi #familiesareforever
