The Mr. only has one week left of dental school.
I seriously get chills thinking about it. In one month he will have graduated and be working in his own practice and we can start reeling in the big bucks… so we can just turn around and start paying off our mountains of student debt.
Thanks Uncle Sam.
We have started making some strict plans to pay off our debt quickly and focus on what we want the next 5 years. We have big dreams and goals for what we want our future to look like and the kind of life, family & marriage we want.
*My big plans include living on a farm with approximately 4 baby goats*
All goats aside, dental school was nothing like I thought it would be and our marriage has consisted of Cam being a dental student 4 out of 5 years. Here is a little flashback to the life of dental student’s wife
|August 27, 2012: Day 1|
First year was tough, there were a lot of late nights studying and I would often bring Cam dinner at school or wait up late for him to come home. We made a deal that home was a study free zone and most of the time it worked out pretty well. That year we went to Vegas, Cali, Utah and I flew to home A LOT. Cam’s best friend go married and we partied it up! I danced in the Nutcracker, we went to church girls camp & I started work at Pure Barre. I took online classes to stay busy when I wasn’t dancing and Cam wasn’t studying for boards.
We celebrated in the fall by giving ourselves the gift of Italy and had a blast stuffing our faces with pasta. My best friend got married and we started trying for our baby. I began nursing school and Cam began the wonderful world of pharm. We visited Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon, SC, & Louisiana!
We jumped right into year 3 with new friends, new adventures, and a new puppy thanks to one of Cameron’s first patients. Lulu joined the fun and Duke was thrilled to have a buddy. We went on trek and relaxed with our favorite couple in California. We had the time of our lives in Tonga with the school humanitarian trip and celebrated Thanksgiving in Fiji. We finally announced our pregnancy and went house hunting in North Carolina.
|The Home Stretch|
Cam had test after test for school but still made it to almost every doctor’s appointment for baby boy. We had Ryker and the same night we came home, Cameron found out he passed his final written board exams! From there time pretty much flew by. The days are long and the weeks are short & just like that we found ourselves at the Senior Awards Banquet. Cameron was presented with the Russell O. Gilpatrick Award along with recognition as Class President, go to for Cad/Cam, and most likely to become a dental faculty member.
Cameron has been incredibly dedicated through school but he also took time for us to make amazing memories and some pretty great friends. It’s sad that we are all going separate ways but we will always have MWU and a butt load of debt 🙂
Check out this amazing video of what Cam really went through in school!
