This weekend we had a crazy fun & super fast trip to Boston! Cameron was asked to present at a dental conference; neither of us had ever been to Boston, so when he suggested I hop on a plane & tag along I was already packing!
When we were first married, we made a pack to visit a new place each year. It started out as visiting a new country but after we got pregnant with Ryker we revised the deal to new place or new adventure. For 2016 we went to several new places: Cameron went to Canada with his Dad & we both went to Waco, TX + now Boston!
When I found out that we would be staying just a mile from Boston Ballet I quickly did some research and called to see if I could take a class. Ohh to dance everyday in that beautiful studio! Taking class definitely did my soul some good & got my creative juices flowing for my classes back here in phx || get ready girlies (whom I kidding they don’t read this haha)
Friday, Cam was at the conference all day so I toured the city with his mom! Then Cameron & I wandered around Saturday before our evening flight home.
where we stayed + what we did + where we ate:
|Friday|
Stayed at The Eliot Hotel which upon walking in made me feel like I had stepped back in time. From the single gold room key to their fresh melt in your mouth chocolate chocolate chip cookies; I felt like I was on a second honeymoon. It was simple and elegant and just plain classy. We will definitely be recommending them to all our friends
Breakfast at Sonsie || we heard brunch is really great here but they weren’t serving it Friday. Food was okay but not our favorite
Class at Boston Ballet & she toured MIT
Walked through Boston Public Garden || dreamy
Trolley tour to Beacon Hill for shopping || Stopped in Tatte for a quick snack; I loved their nutella sandwich cookies YUM!
Barking Crab for lunch || AMAZING food & service! We had clam chowder, corn fritters, & crab dip. Best recommendation from my sister, thanks Jen!
Cocktail hour & dinner with the conference || I was so excited because I got to catch up with one of Cam’s classmates from school that I loved!
Holiday Pops at Symphony Hall || seriously their rendition of ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ is on repeat over here
|Saturday|
Mike’s Pastry on the North End for cannoli || yes, a thousand times yes (cash only)
Brunch at Mike & Patty’s || this was recommended to us by some friends & it was so worth the wait. Kind of comes at you from nowhere because it’s located in the middle of a neighborhood & it’s so small we had to squeeze in to order. They made everyone wait outside because it was so busy but like I said, delicious! We found a Starbucks for some hot chocolate & apple spice so we could eat our food inside because it was FREEZING!
Walked the Freedom Trail || we were not use to the cold at all & kept ducking in boutiques to ‘look around’ but mainly to keep warm
Shopped Newberry Street then made our way back to our hotel & grabbed a car to the airport
We stopped at Legal Seafood for dinner, then straight home to snuggle Ryker!
It was a great trip – next time in the summer 😉p.s. I tried to sneak a picture of our doorman because he was the cutest & so friendly!
