Call me crazy but I just can’t seem to keep up with how much my toddler wants to eat! In the past week alone, I have had several people comment on how big Ryker has gotten. It’s one of those things you kind of don’t realize until someone else points it out, but looking back at a blurry phone picture from February I was shocked! I cried one of those ugly cries because it was TRUE! He has gotten so big. The one thing I have picked up on is how much he’s been eating. I feel like I have a teenage boy in my house we go through food so fast.
Thursday, I was getting ready to go in to work and was running around the house getting everything set up to make it easy on my sitter. She has watched Ry before so she knew the basic rundown of our home, where the diapers were, what he plays with etc etc. But when it comes to food I felt like I needed to prepare a buffet for this kid. I laid out the graham crackers, fruit snacks, yogurts and thought to myself “I just wish there was an easy meal she could heat up and I would have the peace of mind knowing Ry had enough to eat… and that it wasn’t junk”
Now don’t get me wrong my sitter probably could whip up some amazing meal herself but I don’t want her to have to spend time cooking. I look for my sitters to play with Ry, entertain him and make sure he is still alive when I get home. I was frustrated. I mean yes, laying out options is do-able, but I was already in a rush giving myself plenty of space to get to work on time and here I am writing down phone numbers and options for food, and emergency contact info and wifi passwords. The list goes on.
My kid is 17 months old! How have I not found a way to make all of this easier on our family?
Well, this weekend my problems were solved. I was introduced to Kidfresh Frozen Meals which I grabbed at Fry’s and gave it a go. I loaded up on several different choices like Kidfresh Wagon Wheels Mac + Cheese and Kidfresh Mighty Meaty Chicken Meatballs. I loved the options because they are foods that Ry is familiar with and loves! It’s convenient for busy days or to leave for sitters because they’re ready to eat in minutes.
One of the best parts is the meals have up to a ½ cup of hidden veggies in every meal. WHAT?! I know you are probably thinking of the old school frozen tray dinners that your grandma gave you that had freezer burn… No way! Kidfresh is fresh frozen right after preparation to ensure great nutrition.
For lunch, I gave Ry the Kidfresh Muy Cheesy Quesadillas and snuck a bite. They tasted just like I heated up a quesadilla right on my stove. There are no artificial flavors, ingredients, synthetic colors or preservatives.
I love finding ways to make life simpler when you are in those busy rushed moments without compromising on quality or the type of nutrition my kid is used to. Kidfresh meals are dedicated to created meals you can trust with staying consistent with USDA dietary guidelines for all children and are in BPA-free trays to ensure that you can safely prepare them at home.
Last night we gave Ryker the Kidfresh Spaghetti Loops + Meat Sauce and he loved it. The little loops fit perfect on his teeny fingers and he loved licking them off! For a limited time at Kroger and Kroger family of stores, like Fry’s, you can save at least 15% off the everyday retail price at Kroger! I got to work this weekend to also simplify our sitter routine more with a printable babysitter note guide. You can print multiple pages to customize each time you need to leave or fill in parts that stay consistence then laminate your notes, stick it on the fridge and use a dry erase maker to fill in the details for your babysitter – like what’s for dinner? Kidfresh, easy peezy!
I wanted a graphic that was clean and simple to follow. Most I found seemed really cluttered with excess information. I left a note sections available for additional directions because for us the basics seem to work just fine!
