Where we stayed: Bedarra Beach Inn – Korotogo (I would 100% stay here again we had great service!)
Where we ate: Eco Cafe (ask for Fabi!!!) & Bedarra Beach Inn – We also ate at some little shacks around villages or on the side of the road.
What we did:
Thursday: We flew from Tonga to Fiji on Thanksgiving day and hung out poolside with Cam’s parents. We all got massages, played on some jet skis and ate at an Italian/Mexican restaurant (I know I know… WHAT? I was skeptical of the combination as well but it was actually pretty good)
Friday: Eco Cafe for amazing pizza & Nakabuta Village to participate in a Kava Ceremony; we met the people of the village, took part in a aong and dance ceremony and made pottery from the clay in their stream
Saturday: Eco Cafe for lunch again pizza and tiramisu (seriously SO good), scuba diving with the locals, horseback riding through the forest to their river. One of our favorite things to do is meet and hang out with locals. I love to see their secret spots because they are always the best! I always suggest this to people when they travel because for us it beats resort life any day!
Sunday: We headed to church but it was so hard to find the building. We thought we were 20 minutes late but everything is on Fiji time and church lasted 4 hours! Afterwards the members invited us for their feast which was HUGE! We had chicken, fish, curry and rice, noodles, taro root, and cassava in coconut milk. They had no utensils so we ate with our hands and they gave us 3 plates of food because they said we were too skinny. Basically we went home and vegged out the rest of the day because we were so full.
Monday: We packed up our stuff, grabbed breakfast and got massages at the hotel. Then we went to Eco Cafe to say bye to all our new friends and of course eat one last pizza. We went into town and lounged by the pool until our flight left later that night.
If you are headed to Fiji or Tonga and have any questions please let me know so I can give you more specific details!
