Price: $10 parking & $30 per person for a lantern. There are several promo codes offered and kids 4-12 are $7. Kids under 3 are free.
Location: Ours was Queen Creek, Arizona but The Lantern Fest has locations across the country
What you get: A biodegradable paper lantern, a box filled with a chocolate bar, graham crackers & marshmallows for s’mores. A lighter and a mini sharpie to write on your lantern. There was a great band, food trucks and fire pits all around for your entertainment.
What you need: Cash for parking and food, a blanket or chairs and jacket because it got a little chilly. We also left smelling like a fire pit so keep in mind while getting dressed!
Some venues do not allow drinks or food to be brought in but since we had Ryker, we walked right in with our diaper bag and his sippy cup with no questions asked. The only time someone asked us for our ticket was to pickup our lanterns so I am assuming you could just go in to view the event and not purchase a lantern? Not sure.
This was probably one of the most stunning things I have ever been a part of. It was living out the scenes from Tangled! I loved it! Ryker was too tired to realize what was going on but once he spotted the thousands of lanterns blowing by he got so quiet and snuggly. It was darling. Cam and I both just kept saying how cool this was. It is hard to describe and pictures don’t do it justice. This was one of my favorite dates and worth ever penny. Next time we will most likely leave Ry at home and invite along another couple to join in the magic.
The event was originally scheduled for a few weeks ago but was moved due to high winds and safety first! So if you decide to go, make sure you are flexible and realize the date may get moved around. All in all, it was breathtaking! Happy Monday y’all…
