My sweet friend from work picked a ton of Mexican Key Limes and brought them to me one morning. It was such a nice surprise and let me tell you how amazing my house smelled when I brought them home!!! MMMM... I love decorating with food, fruit, and natural elements in my home so I placed them in a large vase for a while. One of my best go-to recipe books is Paula Deen's. Pretty much a southern cookbook bible :) I had never made her Bubba's Key Lime Pie, but decided to give it a go. Cameron told me it was better than Village Inn pie, which in his book, is a VERY big deal. I laughed but in all honestly, this pie was really easy to make and delicious. Remember that you need to let it set overnight though and you are good to go! … [Read more...]
5 Early Morning Tips for Active Toddlers
This post is sponsored by NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® but the content and opinions expressed here are my own. #nesquikatwm #ENpowertheday Bringing a new baby into the family changes a lot of things and I have been really focused on creating consistant routines for Ry to recognize and look forward to. One that I feel we have down pat is our morning schedule. I notice that keeping these 5 things regular helps us have a better start to our day and overall keeps everyone's mood HAPPY! When Ryker wakes up, the first thing he does is come into my room to snuggle. I am usually already up but still in bed, nursing Riggs and just enjoying the silence (ya feel me Mamas?!) We all snuggle for a little bit and talk about what we are going to do … [Read more...]
5 {No Cereal} Toddler Breakfast Ideas
Breakfast can get pretty routine - grab a box of cereal, a bowl and pour on the milk. I have been trying to push myself creatively for all our meals to think outside the box and today I am sharing 5 of our favorite no cereal toddler breakfasts. I usually eat the same things that I fix for Ryker but obviously in different portions or more blended together. Let's take a look :) BANANA OATMEAL I can almost always get my 2 year old to eat oatmeal! A lot of the times I take the easy route and do oatmeal packets but on weekends we usually make a big pot of oats and add in peaches and cinnamon. Ryker loves both. If I haven't add in fruit, then I usually pair it with blueberries, a banana and yogurt. BEAR TOAST Bear toast is a big hit in … [Read more...]
Lucky Charms Protein Pancakes
Oka, REAL TALK... If I could give myself an award off of 1 day of parenting - today would be that day! haha I started off our St. Patrick's Day tradition with green Kodiak Protein Cakes topped with a sprinkle of Lucky Charms. I mean if that doesn't take you right back to childhood, I don't know what does! Seriously so easy and Ry thought it was "cooool" We spent the rest of the day at the Air Force flight show where you can watch fighter jets and get up close and personal with tons of different planes. Needless to say, the kid was in heaven. He kept shouting "again again" when the planes did crazy stunts right in front of us. It was the best day and I love making these fun little memories with my family! Next year, I am going to try and … [Read more...]
Diet Coke Twisted Mango + Street Tacos
This shop/post has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #ItsAMatch, #DietCoke #CollectiveBias Okay you probably saw the new Diet Coke® commercial during the big game but if not go watch it right now because that chick had me feeling the all the grooves of all the NEW flavors of Diet Coke. Basically it's the same great Diet Coke with a twist. Like the fling with zing Diet Coke® Twisted Mango! Call me crazy, but when I think mango I am instantly transported to a beach eating street tacos, chips and salsa! That's why I thought it would be a fresh, delicious dinner night to pair Diet Coke Twisted Mango with easy chicken street tacos topped with juicy mango salsa. Is your mouth … [Read more...]
