For my birthday every year I try to run some kind of race, usually just a 5k or a fun run but it's an awesome way to kick start my day! This year was awesome because I ran The Bubble Run on my actual birthday and it was my first event back since having Ryker. I am not going to lie it was challenging and my abs were on fire but I did it and I was happy having my boys cheering me on at the finish line :) Review of the Run: It was a great race for families and kids would really love to do it. The bubbles were more like foam but the color came out of my clothes and off my skin really well. Lake Powell Half Marathon (Take 2!)
Race Shirt & Pants: Beyond Yoga 3 weeks ago I ran my third half marathon! After my first race, I SWORE I would never run a half ever again. (I'm sure it wasn't that only swearing done that day... opps!) Now a year later, here I am 3 half's down and craving more. Just maybe the third time is the charm because after this race I felt amazing! I cut minutes off my time and ended feeling refreshed and accomplished which is very different from the first time feeling nauseated and plain dead. I am in love with Virtual Races sponsored by Vacation Races. It is so convenient to pick my distance, time of day, and course! I ran the Freedom Run 5K for July 4th with Cameron and Duke and had such a blast! We decided to run right by our house alongside some farms and corn fields. Grand Canyon Half Marathon
Check out my race finish at 1:05! Video by Vacation Races My race breakdown and details: Friday: Drove to the Grand Canyon and camped in the park. Vacation Races knows how to put on an event and had a pre-race packet pickup for our shirts, bibs, swag, and any questions racers had along with vendors. I ate spaghetti with venison and garlic bread and crashed! Saturday: Woke up at 5am, ate oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries and a banana.
